Morning! Kihei is notorious for its afternoon winds. Our normal morning hours of operation are 7 am to around 1 pm. Our policy is clear: we do not rent boards in the afternoon. It is simply too dangerous for anyone—experienced or not—to be on the water when the winds pick up.

We normally drop off boards sometime between 7:30 and 9:30. These are the best start times to give you at least two hours to paddle before the winds pick up.

Do you want the boards earlier? Consider letting us bring them to you the night before at no extra cost.

We have two pickup times: before 1 pm on the same day, or 24 hours after delivery.

If you are renting for the morning only, then we want to have the boards back by 1 pm.

If you are renting for 24 hours, then we will set up a time to meet as close to the 24 hours as possible.

No, we do not offer an hourly price. The daily price of $59 covers 24 hours or anything less.

We have two options: damage waiver or no damage waiver.

If you do not purchase the damage waiver, then you pay for any damage other than cosmetic. This means that any dings or gashes that require repair will be your responsibility. Broken fins and leashes cost $25 to replace. Dings the size of a quarter cost about $75 to fix. That is the starting point. If a board is a total loss—stolen, lost, broken in half, or damaged beyond repair—the cost is $750.

If you purchase the damage waiver, you will pay $20 to cover $150 in damages. This is a nice option to cover the cost of accidental damage as described above. If there is damage to the board, we will estimate the repair cost and subtract the $150. Broken fins and leashes are fairly common.

In both cases, we should both take photos of any existing damage to the boards at delivery. This is a good way for us to agree on the condition of the boards before you take possession of them.

Please note that the damage waiver does NOT cover a broken paddle. There is no way for us to fix a broken paddle. Your cost to replace a broken or lost paddle is $75.

This is a good question. Maui has strict laws regarding commercial operations on public property including beaches. This means that we cannot deliver at beach parks or beach parking lots.

Where can we deliver? Private property, which includes homes, hotels, condos, shopping centers. If you’d like to paddle at Kamaole 1 beach, for example, we can hand off the boards to you at the ABC Store across the street or at the Worldmark Resort parking lot. If you are staying at a condo on the water, we can simply bring them to your building.

This is something you need to work out with your accommodation. Some hotels or condos have a storage area or surfboard rack where you can safely keep the boards. If you are staying on the bottom floor, you may be able to store it inside your unit or on the lanai. Please make sure to plan for this if you want to rent overnight or by the week.
